I am enjoying benefits to my neck (arthritis) my hands, (also arthritic) and generally feeling better all around. I originally hired Optimum Performance Fitness because had been working out without getting results. The programs were much shorter and simpler than I was used to. A real benefit was being taken through a step by step approach to gradually improve my fitness level and seeing myself reach my goals. I wanted to start a fitness program to help loose weight and work it around my schedule from home rather then a gym. I have lost about 12 pounds and kept it off after trying for several years giving me an incentive to keep using what I have learned to make a lifestyle change for the better. The system with the goals and Caltrac to monitor my activity give me flexibility over a week Mike was available to answer questions about planning out my activity and to give me workout exercises to increase my strength too. Anybody who does not work with a regular day to day predictable schedule will benefit from the phone coaching services. The original reason for hiring Optimum Performance Fitness, was to learn about better nutrition and how to eat. I learned when to eat certain foods and how to group foods together. I have gained a confidence I lost a long time ago by losing weight and eating better. I can do more things with my kids. I look forward to going to the gym everyday and miss it when I cannot go and I am more conscious when eating, I think before ordering if I am out and make plans now of what we will eat and keep more vegetables and fruit on hand. Mike Worden

Hi, I'm Mike Worden and welcome to the Optimum Performance Fitness website. I'm an A.C.E. (American Council on Exercise) certified Personal Trainer a former Master Fitness by Phone® Coach. I also have my certification as a Master Practitioner of NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming). NLP is a communication skill most associated with the success of Personal Development Speaker Anthony Robbins.  I have used this skill not only in helping my clients get past procrastination but have have been a facilitator for numerous workshops and seminars.

I've been offering people the opportunity to change their lives through the benefits of activity for over 9 years now.

So what can I tell you about myself?  Well I’m 35 years old.  I’ve been a certified Personal Trainer, offering people the opportunity to change their lives through the benefits of activity for over 9 years now.
I originally purchased this business from it's founder and my close friend, Chris Helwig.  Who then moved on to fulfill his passion as a competetive cycling coach.

Hobbies?  I’m big on the outdoors.  I enjoy hiking, biking, camping and kayaking.

My whole thing for being healthy is about performance.  No not sports performance.  For me it’s about getting up in the morning racing around scarfing down breakfast and starting my work day and performing at my best.  
It’s about not getting sick (what’s a flu shot?).  Being able to maintain the same level of enthusiasm at 9 o’clock at night as I had at 9 o’clock that morning.

I am focused on improving people’s life through basic movement to experience the benefits of a healthy active lifestyle and a positive mental attitude.  I enjoy helping those people who are challenged by a lack of time or motivation and wish to do things that will benefit them in their health and daily performance.

What originally sparked my interest in promoting the benefits of physical activity?

From 1995 to 1997 I trained and competed in Drug Free Body Building through the NGA (National Gym Association) in the north eastern United States.  At that time I worked with a trainer that did small seminars and workshops promoting drug free development.  I found out a lot of people had a lot of questions.  Over the next couple of years I did distance education in Toronto and Troy and became a certified Personal Trainer.

Hi, I’m Leanne Madgett. In the past, I was fortunate enough to stay in great shape just by playing and coaching my competitive sports. However, after I had two children…wake up call!!! I put on some extra, unwanted weight that just wouldn’t go away! I decided to refocus and change my lifestyle habits. It was obvious to me that playing sports was simply not enough to lose that extra weight. I immediately became passionate about resistance training and eating healthy. Now, I am eager to help you.

I am an experienced Certified Personal Trainer and Nutrition & Wellness Specialist through Can-Fit-Pro. I earned a degree in Physical Education at the University of Manitoba while under a volleyball scholarship. I am also a qualified Technical and Theory Level 2 coach in volleyball, ringette, basketball, golf, softball, track & field, gymnastics and the Special Olympics.

I’ve had several years of experience training people of all levels of fitness. What ever it may be, motivation, weight loss, fat loss, muscle toning, sports performance training. I want to help you start the journey to healthy living today.
